Research Dossier — Invicta S-Type (Low-Chassis) Coupé, 1931
Context. Invicta’s famed S-Type adopted a low, underslung chassis that dropped the body between the axles for a purposeful stance and excellent touring speed. Bodies were coach-built (fixed-head coupés and open tourers). Twin side-mounted spares and long louvered bonnet panels are signature visuals.
Powertrain & chassis (period typical). Meadows 4½-litre OHV inline-six on twin carburettors (~120–130 hp), 4-speed manual, rear-wheel drive. Ladder/underslung frame, semi-elliptic leaf springs, mechanical drum brakes, wire wheels with knock-offs.
Design signatures to capture. Tall plated radiator and cap, paired headlamps on a cross-bar, very long louvered bonnet, narrow running boards with full-depth splash aprons, flowing cycle/valanced wings, twin side-spare wells, and a compact coupé cabin with fabric roof panel and rear luggage rack.
Choose coachwork, size, colors and accessories, then click Generate. Emphasize wheelbase length, bonnet-to-cabin proportion and low chassis stance. Keep tile ribbons thin, louvers consistent, and panel gaps ≈1 plate for a display-grade finish.
