Research Dossier — Opel GT (1969)

Context. Styled by GM/Opel with a wind-tunnel-tested “coke-bottle” body, the Opel GT debuted for 1968–70 (’71–’73 in some markets). The 1969 model popular in the U.S. used the 1.9-litre CIH four and a 4-speed manual. Its party trick: hand-rotated pop-up headlamps actuated by a cabin lever.

Powertrain & chassis (period typical). CIH inline-4 (1.9 ~90–102 hp SAE depending on market; 1.1 high-rev variant in EU). Front-engine, RWD, front disc/rear drum brakes, independent front suspension with double wishbones and transverse leaf, live rear axle with trailing arms and coil springs.

Design signatures to capture. Long low nose with twin “nostril” scoops, rotating pop-up lamps, tight greenhouse with thin pillars, voluptuous hips tapering to a short Kamm tail, round quad tail lamps, and slim chrome bumpers. Interiors feature twin round clusters, deep-bolster buckets and a three-spoke wheel.

Choose spec, size, colors, wheels and trim, then click Generate. Emphasize thin chrome ribbons, correct stance and gentle roof crown. Keep panel gaps ≈1 plate for a display-grade finish.
