History of the 1967 Toyota 2000GT Convertible

The Toyota 2000GT shattered global perceptions of Japanese automobiles, introducing world-class engineering, a high-revving Yamaha-built DOHC six, and a design on par with the best European grand tourers. For the Bond film You Only Live Twice, two coupes were hand-modified into convertibles — the only true open-top 2000GTs ever made. These roadsters remain priceless, museum-held artifacts of both automotive and cinematic history.
