Research Dossier — Maserati Sebring 3500 GTi (1963)
Context. The Sebring was Maserati’s evolution of the 3500 GT, clothed by Vignale with sharper lines and a 2+2 layout. The GTi introduced Lucas mechanical fuel injection on the DOHC straight-six. Series I cars feature stacked tail lamps and clean bumpers; Series II added minor styling changes and larger engine options.
Powertrain & chassis (period typical). Alloy 3.5-litre DOHC inline-six (~235 hp) with Lucas MFI, ZF 5-speed, rear-wheel drive. Tubular steel chassis, front discs (on later cars) with rear drums, independent front suspension with coil springs and a live rear axle with leaf springs. Borrani wires were common fitment.
Design signatures to capture. Low egg-crate grille with trident, quad headlamps, crisp shoulder line and rocker brightwork, delicate bumpers with small overriders, modest hood scoop, side vents behind the front wheels, and tidy stacked tail lamps. Cabin shows round Jaeger instruments, wood-rim wheel and stitched leather buckets.
Choose series, size, colors, wheels, and options, then click Generate. Emphasize thin chrome lines, accurate greenhouse proportions and a smooth, slab-sided beltline over a rigid internal spine.
