Research Dossier — 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I
Context. The Phantom I succeeded the Silver Ghost (production 1925–1931), retaining the separate chassis supplied to coachbuilders while introducing a larger inline-six with overhead valves. Chassis were built at Derby (UK) and at Springfield, Massachusetts (US); bodies commonly came from Barker, Hooper, Park Ward, Mulliner (UK) and Brewster (US).
Signature cues. Tall “Parthenon” radiator and polished shell with Spirit of Ecstasy; very long bonnet; large drum headlamps (often with a central driving lamp); twin side-mount spares; sweeping wings (fenders); upright windscreen; formal rear compartment on town-car/landaulette bodies.
Running gear. Approx. 7.7-litre straight-six with overhead valves; four-wheel, servo-assisted mechanical brakes; 4-speed gearbox; solid front axle and live rear axle on semi-elliptic springs. Long and short wheelbases were offered depending on coachwork.
Cabin character. Chauffeur’s compartment typically in black leather with simple fittings; rear saloon richly trimmed with brocade or leather, wood marquetry, occasional seats (jump seats), division with speaking tube/telephone, vanity cabinets, decanter set, rugs and footrests.
Use the options to match a specific coachbuilder theme (Brewster town car, Barker landaulette, etc.). Prompts prioritize museum-grade fidelity with buildable LEGO techniques.
